Pray For Wisdom

Solomon ruled in David's place as king.  One night the Lord came to him in a dream saying that whatever he asked for would be given to him.  Solomon answered in 1 Kings 3:7-9, "...I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.  Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number.  So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.  For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"  God was very pleased with Solomon's answer and in verse 12 the Lord says, "I will do what you have asked.  I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be."  Now, because of his heart the Lord also chose to bless Solomon with riches, honor, and "...if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life."
I truly believe that God delights in blessing his children.  When our hearts are aligned with His then the fruit of our labor is from His hand also.  The awesome part?  We can then give him glory for everything!
